Believing
Jesus brought the Kingdom of God to earth and also taught how the this miraculous kingdom operates in and through our lives.
Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." Mark 9:23 nkjv
In this single statement, Jesus provides a profound insight into the operation of the Kingdom of God. Without any limitation of scope or application Jesus declares that all things are possible to those who believe.
Believing is also vital in having a functional faith in God.
So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:22-24
In today’s microwave, instant results culture, it is not uncommon to hear someone telling God what they want him to do, and expecting God to do it, without any consideration of whether they actually believe that they will receive what they are praying for.
The same is true with regard to receiving the promises of God - it involves believing that you receive them. Believing is foundational in moving in the power of God and in the operations of the Holy Spirit. In fact believing is vital in so many aspects of life itself. But what does it mean to truly believe?
Look at the conditions of salvation.
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10.
Believing and speaking are vital to salvation (Romans 10:9-10), just as believing and speaking are vital to the operations of faith (Mark 11:22-24).
So what causes you to believe in people? What is required for you to believe in them concerning important things in your life, or in promises or commitments they may have made to you. And the same is true in concerning God - the Father, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit. Just as there are precursors for you to believe in people with a steadfast confidence, so it is also true that there are precursors to having a believing faith in God.
Part of believing God is found in knowing the Father, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit - knowing their natures. It is in experiencing the love and understanding of the Father in a real and tangible way. In this knowing, trust emerges, and believing is a natural byproduct. You appropriate the things of God, move in spiritual authority, receive the blessings and promises of the Father from a posture of knowing God - intimately, personally.
Finally, where do you believe from? Is mental ascent true believing? The Bible says that we believe with our heart. Your heart is the core that you believe from and experience God from. This is the core understanding I hope to impart through this brief video. I trust it will reinforce a pathway of understanding, so that you can experience an ever greater measure of the miraculous life in God that you were designed and intended by the Father for.
