Come Up Higher
n these past days, I have become increasingly aware of the Father calling us to “come up higher.” A higher place, a higher perspective, a higher understanding. A place of mounting up, with wings as eagles, as described in Isaiah 40:31 into realms of the presence and kingdom of God. I believe our Father is calling you to a higher place in Him in this season.
Life itself, people, your work, media, and circumstances in your life all have the power to pull you down. Often times this happens without you being fully conscious of the depth and density of the impact. Instead of living in a place of faith and hope, discouragement and disappointment can become defining influences of your heart.
Heaven is not a place of sadness. It is not a place of discouragement. Heaven is a place of joy. It is saturated in the presence and glory of God.
Jesus made a way so that we can taste of the powers of heaven while on earth. He called this the Kingdom of God. Jesus came to bring the kingdom of God to earth.
In Matt 6:9-13 in the Lord’s prayer, Jesus directs us to pray that the will of God would be done on earth as it is in heaven. One dimension of the kingdom of God is righteous, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. Joy is meant to be a vital part of the life of a son and daughter of God, even in the midst of a fallen world we find ourselves in, and the profound damage this brings to people.
In Psalm 68:1, David declares “Let God arise and his enemies be scattered.” God dwells in, he inhabits the praises of his people. Where God’s presence is, His kingdom is also found. God arises in, and dwells in the praises of his people. This is our priestly sacrifice that profoundly connects us with God himself. “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Hebrews 13:15.
I believe the Father’s innate desire is to bless you. Imagine for a moment if blessing was conveyed through a specific frequency. And imagine if the receiving of this blessing was contingent upon being of a compatible frequency of heart. For instance, could it be that we are more inclined to receive a blessing of the Father when our heart is filled with thankfulness. So, if the Father desired to bless, but if the heart of the potential recipient was filled with unthankfulness, or an absence of gratitude, is it possible that this condition could hinder one from receiving the fullness of the blessing of the Father? Do you believe this could the be case?
So, is it possible then, that the more that one moves into a heart of praise that God inhabits, that the flow of the Father’s blessing could potentially be more fluid in your life?
Could it be that one of the ways we are robbed of the potential of our Father’s blessings, robbed of the empowerment of the purposes and plans of the Father being realized in our lives, and robbed of our dominion over the warfare of the enemy, is when we fall short in giving praise to our God?
I believe there is not only a correlation between our spiritual health and praise, but also our physical health and praise. Even as unhealthy cells in our body vibrate at a different frequency than healthy cells, could it be that when we praise God, that we envelope our body into a frequency of divine health? Praise is so very profound.
I believe you are being called to come up higher as the Father’s chosen generation. As you do, your praise will shift your life out of the powers of darkness and into his marvelous light. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9.
May this video will inspire you to arise in an ever growing life of praise by the grace of the Lord. I believe the Father is calling you to come up higher to embrace his purposes, to resist the enemy, and to experience his goodness.
